Codicote Playgroup

At Codicote playgroup the curriculum is planned around the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which was brought in by the government in 2007.

There are four themes of the EYFS and these are

•A unique Child – recognising the individuality of each child.

•Positive relationships – these encompass the relationships the child has with their parents, carers and each other and the relationships between staff and parents.

•Enabling Environments – supporting every child through observation, assessment and planning and the wider context, working with external agencies.

•Learning and Development – recognising that all children learn in different ways and at different rates.

At Codicote we aim to meet all these needs with dedicated and knowledgable staff who will support the children in their learning every step of the way, to make their transition into school easier.

The staff team, under the direction of the Playgroup leader plan a range of fun and stimulating activities for the children to participate in.  These activities are based around the six areas of learning.

•Personal, Social & Emotional Development.

•Communication, Language & Literacy.

•Problem Solving, Reasoning & Numeracy.

•Knowledge and Understanding of the World.

•Physical Development.

•Creative Development.

Each Term we will cover several topics such as Water, All about me, the seasons, Dinosaurs and Multi-Cultural festivals including Divali, Chinese New Year, Christmas and Easter.
